He said his fitness was at a level that made him consider trying to play in the recent ODI series in England.”I’ve been training hard and I probably could have pushed to go over to England, but I thought I wanted to get a really good base behind me and get some stuff done in the gym and get my fitness up to a level that I’m very happy with,” he said. “Then looking forward to probably the next two to three months to do a comeback and sort of take it from there.”Australia’s next limited-overs assignment is on a tour of India in October.

Newcastle United’s Emil Krafth has been criticised by journalists after giving away the free-kick that led to West Ham United’s opener in their Premier League clash. 

The lowdown

With just over half an hour gone in the Saturday lunchtime clash at the London Stadium, Michail Antonio cut inside from the left flank and was ‘wiped out’ by Krafth, starting at right-back in the absence of Kieran Trippier.

Krafth was shown a yellow card by referee Chris Kavanagh, his third booking of the campaign.

And from Aaron Cresswell’s resulting delivery, Craig Dawson headed West Ham in front.

The Athletic’s George Caulkin tweeted that Krafth’s foul was ‘daft’ and ‘blatant’, undoing a ‘bright start’ from the visitors.

Newcastle World’s Liam Kennedy, meanwhile, called the Swede’s challenge ‘needless’.

And BBC Sport’s Neil Johnston wrote in his live text commentary that it was a ‘careless’ moment.

The verdict

Krafth really ought to have been more wary of the set-piece threat West Ham pose.

Prior to kick-off, Hammers had scored nine goals from those situations in 2021/22, a tally bettered only by Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea (incidentally, the league’s top three).

And more generally, it was an unconvincing performance from the right-back.

He won only two of the five duels he contested (40%) and misplaced seven of his 28 passes, leaving him with an accuracy of just 75%. That number was particularly bad in the first half, failing with five of 11 passes.

Indeed, his SofaScore rating of 6.4/10 was the lowest in Eddie Howe’s side.

Smith remains captain of the Test side and will continue to captain the one-day side until the end of the World Cup.”Johan was the unanimous choice of the Board and we have every confidence that he will do an excellent job leading up to the next edition of the ICC World Twenty20 in 2012,” Cricket South Africa CEO Gerald Majola said.Botha stood in for Smith during the limited-overs leg of South Africa’s tour of Australia in 2009, leading the team to a series win. That experience appears to have convinced CSA he is the right man for the job.”Johan has an excellent record as a leader,” selection convener Andrew Hudson said. “He was an inspirational captain when he stood in for Smith in the ODI series victory in Australia in 2009. His appointment is part of the process of refreshing our Pro20 squad and also deciding whether to follow the route of having different captains for different formats of the game.”Botha said he had enjoyed his earlier taste of the captaincy was hopeful he would do well enough so that when the time came, he would be considered for the one-day captaincy as well.”I really enjoyed the captaincy when I stood in for Graeme before, and I am proud to be offered the job now. ويخوض فريق الزمالك استعداداته لمواجهة المصري البورسعيدي في السادس والعشرين من نوفمبر الجاري على ملعب استاد برج العرب، في إطار منافسات دور الـ8 من بطولة كأس مصر.

واجتمع فيريرا مع اللاعبين قبل انطلاق التدريبات، وحرص خلال جلسته على الاطمئنان عليهم بعد فترة الراحة، كما تحدث المدير الفني عن خطة الإعداد للفترة المقبلة.

وانتظم الثنائي عبد الله جمعة وعمرو السيسي في التدريبات الجماعية عقب عودتهما من معسكر منتخب مصر، استعدادًا لودية بلجيكا المقرر لها يوم 18 نوفمبر الجاري في فترة التوقف الدولي.

وشارك الثنائي في التدريبات الجماعية للفريق بشكل طبيعي، وخاض اللاعبان الفقرات التأهيلية والفنية مع باقي أفراد الفريق استعدادًا للفترة المقبلة.

وأدى أحمد فتوح الظهير الأيسر للفريق تدريبات تأهيلية خاصة تحت إشراف الجهاز الطبي، من أجل تجهيزه للمشاركة في التدريبات في أقرب وقت.

ويعاني فتوح من إصابة بكدمة قوية في وجه القدم، إذ قام الجهاز الطبي للفريق بإزالة “الدعامة” الوقائية من وجه قدم أحمد فتوح، ليبدأ اللاعب تدريباته التأهيلية.

وفي الوقت ذاته يواصل محمد عبد الغني تدريباته التأهيلية للتعافي من الإصابة في العضلة الأمامية استعدادًا للفترة المقبلة.

وقام محمد عبد الغني بالركض الخفيف حول الملعب، وبعدها خاض عدة تدريبات تأهيلية متنوعة، بجانب مران خفيف بالكرة، تحت إشراف الجهاز الطبي للفريق.

وحرص محمد أسامة رئيس الجهاز الطبي للفريق على الاطمئنان على اللاعب و متابعة سير البرنامج التأهيلي له ومنحة بعض التعليمات في إطار تجهيزه للمشاركة في التدريبات خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وعقد أمير مرتضى منصور المشرف العام على الكرة جلسة سريعة للاطمئنان على عبد الغني ومدى سرعة سير البرنامج التأهيلي الموضوع له تمهيدًا للعودة للمشاركة مع الفريق.

وواصل نبيل عماد “دونجا” لاعب وسط الفريق البرنامج التأهيلي الموضوع له من قبل الجهاز الطبي للفريق، لتجهيزه  للمشاركة في التدريبات خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وأدي “دونجا” فقرة تدريبات تأهيلية متنوعة بالكرة تحت قيادة عمرو المطراوي أخصائي التأهيل بالفريق، على هامش التدريبات الجماعية التي أقيمت على ملعب عبد اللطيف أبورجيلة بمقر النادي.

وانتظم التونسي حمزة المثلوثي والمغربي زكريا الوردي ثنائي الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي الزمالك، في التدريبات الجماعية.

ويأتي ذلك عقب عودة الثنائي من بلادهما بعد قضاء فترة الراحة السلبية التي حصل عليها الفريق مع أسرهم، وشارك المثلوثي والوردي في التدريبات الجماعية بشكل طبيعي، وقاما بأداء الفقرات التأهيلية والفنية مع باقي أفراد الفريق.

Alan Hutton has now given his reaction to the news that Filip Helander is back in the Glasgow Rangers team ahead of their big UEFA Europa League clash.

The Lowdown: Welcome return

Helander came back into the side earlier this month in a 3-0 win away at Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup, in which he managed to find the back of the net, before featuring in the 1-1 draw against Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership over the weekend (Transfermarkt).

The Sweden international had been out of action since the middle of left out of the squad following his injury.

The Latest: Hutton reacts

Speaking to Football Insider, former Ibrox right-back and Rangers TV pundit Hutton has now given his reaction to the news of Helander’s return to the first team:

“When you see Helander, especially with his performances on European nights, his quality really came to the fore on those evenings.

“To have him back I think is massive because you need somebody with his experience.

“Bassey, as good as he has done, I’m not sure he is ready for that sort of level yet. Especially playing in a sort of foreign position.

“I know he can play there but ideally he’d play left-back.

“I think it’s a timely return for Helander. Hopefully, he is fit enough and well enough he can slot in there, go for it and all his injury worries are behind him.”

The Verdict: Big boost

Although Helander will not be able to play in their Europa League campaign, having him back for the rest of the SPFL fixtures will be a big boost for the Teddy Bears.

The central defender ranks highly among his teammates in terms of average clearances, blocks, tackles and pass success per game so far in the division (WhoScored), and must try and stay fit from now until the end of the term.

With the draw at the weekend, the Light Blues have now lost more ground on Celtic in the race for the title, and Helander being fit and a mainstay in the side may well be key if they are to lift the trophy again.

The Lowdown: Ten Hag incoming…

The Red Devils look set to bring Ajax boss Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford ahead of the 2022/23 campaign to take over from Ralf Rangnick.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday that United are set to complete a contract agreement with Ten Hag and that contact has been made with Ajax over a €2m clause.

Ten Hag previously demanded to be 100% involved when it comes to signings, departures and new contracts, and it looks as if Lewandowski is a potential target.

The Latest: Lewandowski contact

Sports Witness relayed an update from Sport regarding the Bayern Munich striker on Monday. They claimed that United are on the search for a star striker this summer and have contacted Lewandowski’s camp to make their interest known.

The 33-year-old, valued at around ‘€140-150m’ (£117m-£125m) last year according to Di Marzio, will be entering the final 12 months of his Bayern deal in the summer, with Barcelona also name-checked in the latest report.

The Verdict: Ronaldo replacement?

Edinson Cavani is set to leave United over the coming months, which will leave Ten Hag with just Cristiano Ronaldo as the only recognised senior striker on the books.

Ronaldo’s future is also thought to be in doubt, so should he depart, then Lewandowski, described as ‘unplayable’ by Sky Sports analyst Statman Dave, could be a perfect replacement.

However, if Ronaldo remains at Old Trafford, then pursuing a younger forward could be a wiser move, with Benfica’s Darwin Nunez on their radar after a stellar 2021/22 campaign.

وتلاقى المنتخبان في إطار منافسات الجولة الأولى من دور مجموعات كأس العالم، قطر 2022، حيث فازت هولندا بهدفين دون رد.

وقال فان خال في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “NOS” الهولندية: “أعتقد أننا لم نلعب بشكل جيد، لهذا السبب منحناهم الفرصة لتسجيل هدف، عندما كنا متحدين، لم يحصلوا على أي فرص”.

على الرغم من المباراة المتواضعة، لم يكن فان جال خائفًا من بداية سيئة في كأس العالم، حيث قال: “لم يكن لدي انطباع بأننا سنخسر، بالكاد حصلوا على فرصة قبل الاستراحة وربما اثنتين بعد بداية الشوط الثاني”.

A bruxa estava solta no treino do Corinthians deste sábado pela manhã e vitimou o atacante Marquinhos Gabriel. Ele machucou o joelho direito, saiu da atividade imediatamente chorando e deixou o CT Joaquim Grava de muletas, gerando preocupação em toda comissão técnica. Ele teve uma lesão no ligamento colateral media e o clube informou que o prazo de recuperação é de no mínimo 30 dias. Poderia ser pior, pois havia suspeita de ruptura do ligamento, o que necessitaria de cirurgia, já descartada.

Marquinhos Gabriel se machucou sozinho, durante o aquecimento da atividade tática comandada pelo técnico Fábio Carille. Imediatamente, ele recebeu atendimento médico e já externava o que parecia o pior. Com as mãos no rosto, o jogador chorava enquanto era examinado pelos médicos do clube. Foi levado para a parte interna do CT em um carrinho.

Após uma primeira avaliação, o médico Júlio Stancati confirmou a preocupação, informando que havia suspeita de ruptura ligamentar. Em seguida, após exames, veio o diagnóstico mais preciso, com a lesão mais leve. A situação preocupante foi externada nas palavras do volante Camacho, que falou após o treino.

-Todo mundo ficou assustado ali, porque foi um lance feio, sozinho. E ele saiu bastante chateado – declarou o jogador, bastante preocupado com o companheiro.

O problema acontece justamente quando Marquinhos tinha ganhado uma chance de Carille. Ele foi titular na quarta-feira na derrota para o São Bento, substituindo Clayson. Mas a zica estava tão solta que o atacante também deixou o treino machucado. Clayson sentiu dores na coxa esquerda e abandonou a atividade antes do fim. Carille só vai definir o time neste domingo para o duelo de segunda-feira contra o Red Bull Brasil, em Campinas. Certo é que Marquinhos Gabriel não estará.
